Actress Shriya Saran recently starred in the film ‘Tadka: Love is Cooking’ and it has been receiving rave reviews from the audience.
Also featuring Nana Patekar, Taapsee Pannu and Ali Fazal, ‘Tadka’ has been directed by Prakash Raj, who is an accomplished actor himself.
Opening up about her experience of working with Prakash Raj – the director, Shriya said, “I know him more as an actor for my movie ‘Nuvve Nuvve’. He played my father, and we spent a lot of time together understanding each other, trying to figure what my dad is like and what his connection with his kids was at that point of time. We connected on a very deep level and it is just amazing that he is such a wonderful human being who loves his craft.”
Shriya also shed light on the USP of Tadka’ and shared the reaction of her family members when they watched the slice-of-life drama. “Tadka is just beautiful. It made Andre (Koscheev) cry and laugh at the same time. My dad watched it twice which is very rare,” she quipped.
She went on to say, “It’s a movie that everyone needs to watch. It’s all about loving yourself the way you are and respecting yourself. It’s about being you, and then love will happen to you because you are unique.”
The story of ‘Tadka: Love is Cooking’ kicks off when a wrong number phone call leads to romance brewing between a middle-aged man Tukaram and Madhura. When they finally plan to meet, he sends his nephew Siddharth and she asks her friend Nicole to meet pretending to be Tukaram and Madhura. What happens next forms the crux of this sweet, food-themed love story.”
The film, which is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Salt N’ Pepper’, premiered on Zee5 on November 4.
