Coming back to Hansal Mehta, the director will be back with ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’. Theatre actor Gagan Dev Riar has been roped in to play the lead role.
Mehta will serve as the showrunner and direct alongside Tushar Hiranandani.
The new season will chronicle the life of Telgi, a fruit seller born in Khanapur in Karnataka, and his journey to becoming the mastermind behind one of the most ingenious scams in India.
It is adapted from the Hindi book ‘Reporter ki Diary’ penned by journalist and news reporter Sanjay Singh, who is credited with breaking the story of the scam.
Besides that, he also has an untitled murder-thriller with Kareena Kapoor Khan, a series about Rameshwar Nath Kao, the first Chief of R&AW, based on RK Yadav’s book ‘Mission R&AW’, and Pratik Gandhi-starrer ‘Gandhi’ based on the writings of Ramachandra Guha. Mehta’s other project is ‘Scoop’ starring Karishma Tanna as the crime reporter Jigna Vora, who was accused in journalist J Dey’s murder. The film also stars Harman Baweja, Ravi Mahashabde, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
