Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is all set to make his debut in the south film industry with a special cameo in megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘GodFather’.
Salman and Chiranjeevi launched the Hindi trailer of the film on Saturday at a grand event in Mumbai. During the launch, the ‘Kick’ star was asked about how did he bag the role in ‘GodFather’.
Revealing the details, Salman joked that “casting couch does exist”. He shared that he was doing a commercial with Chiranjeevi in Thailand and that they both flew down together. “The only person apart from me who slept on my couch is Chiru garu. I told him to go to the bedroom and sleep and he said ‘I will sleep on the couch’. This is casting couch and because of this I was cast in this film,” he stated, leaving Chiranjeevi in splits.
Salman added that Chiranjeevi told him about this small role in ‘GodFather’ but he had already given his nod even if it meant just standing behind the megastar.
Opening up on his debut in the south, Salman said that while others want to go to Hollywood, he always had his eyes down south.
He added that if all the different film industries come together and work with a combined force then there will be no stopping for the box office numbers. “People talk about Rs 300-400 crores, like this if we all get together then we’ll cross Rs 3000-4000 crores,” he said.
Directed by Mohan Raja, ‘GodFather’ is the Telugu remake of the Malayalam film ‘Lucifer’. The film is set to hit the silver screens on October 5.
