One of the places where Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s pre-wedding celebrations will be taking place is an exclusive and one of India’s oldest clubs. Established in 1913, the club is one of the country’s oldest and most exclusive venues in the National Capital, Delhi Gymkhana Club.
The venue will host one of the ceremonies. The club is said to have a wait list of almost 37 years for membership. The couple will have their wedding festivities begin by end of this month and will conclude in Mumbai in the first week of October.
Richa Chadha is currently in Mumbai shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi and Ali Fazal has been shuffling between Mumbai and Lucknow for shooting ‘Mirzapur 3’.
The actors have been committed to completing the shooting of their current commitments ahead of their wedding celebrations. Richa was originally meant to wrap up shooting this week, but her song shoot for ‘Heeramandi’ has been delayed and will now wrap up late next week.
The couple will kick start their wedding celebrations in Delhi on September 30, and conclude in Mumbai on October 7.
The wedding is set to take place in Mumbai in an intimate ceremony with close family and friends and will have two grand receptions for Delhi and Mumbai on October 2 and October 7 respectively apart from other celebratory events.
After many delays owing to the pandemic and commitment of shoots, the actors who were originally set to marry in April 2020, had their wedding delayed a few times over owing to the ever-evolving situation of Covid-19, and the duo were busy with commitments of shoots of projects they have been tied to.
The couple met on the sets of ‘Fukrey’ in 2013 and after dating for a few years, Ali proposed to Richa in December 2019 on her birthday during their vacation in the Maldives.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ali will next be seen in Netflix’s ‘Khufiya’ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The film is based on the novel ‘Escape to Nowhere’, written by the ex-chief of the Counter Espionage Unit of R&AW, Amar Bhushan.
He also has the Hollywood flick, ‘Kandahar’ where he will be sharing the screen with Gerard Butler.
On the other hand, both Richa and Ali have wrapped the third installment of the comedy buddy franchise, ‘Fukrey’. It is slated to release in 2023.
