Social media sensation Urfi Javed has been summoned by the Mumbai Police for “displaying body in public” after BJP leader Chitra Wagh lodged a complaint against her a few days ago.
According to India Today, Urfi will appear before the Amboli police on Saturday.
Wagh had accused Urfi of promoting nudity and obscenity on the streets of Mumbai.

Chitra Wagh and Urfi Javed got into a verbal spat after the former slammed the actress’ dressing style. Wagh had reportedly lodged a complaint with the state women commission chairperson Rupali Chakankar but she refused to entertain the petition.
Wagh had later taken the matter to the police and also expressed disdain over their inaction and threatened stern action against her over her indecent outfits.
Urfi’s lawyer files complaint against Chitra Wagh
Urfi’s lawyer Nitin Satpute filed a complaint on Friday on behalf of the actress accusing Wagh of threatening and intimidating her on public platform.
Satpute issued a statement which read, “I have lodged complaint for the offence U/s 153(A)(B), 504, 506, 506(ii) of IPC Against BJP Party Worker Smt Chitra Kishor Wagh for threatening, and criminal intimidation to cause harm to Model/Actress Urfi Javed on public domain as well as requested for preventive Action U/s 149 and 107 of Cr.P.C, (Chapter Proceeding against her as she is continuously committing breach of peace in society by threatening on media) today.”
Urfi’s television career
Urfi became a household name after she participated in Karan Johar’s ‘Bigg Boss OTT’. At present, she is a contestant in the reality show ‘Splitsvilla 14’.
Apart from that, she has also starred in television shows like ‘Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania’, ‘Chandra Nandini’, ‘Meri Durga’, ‘Bepannaah’, ‘Jiji Maa’, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’, and others.
