Actress Mouni Roy is currently basking in the success of her latest outing ‘Brahmastra’, in which she played the evil antagonist, Junoon. Like several other recent releases, ‘Brahmastra’ too was hit by the ‘#boycott’ trend, but the film managed to remain unharmed, and has already become one of the highest grossers of the year.
During an interaction with News18, Mouni revealed that she is unfazed by the trolls and the trends and that she does not pay much attention to what they say.
She went on to say that she was fine with accepting criticism after the audiences watch the film, but netizens demanding that a film be boycotted even without watching it doesn’t make sense.
“These are all phantom people, who are hiding behind their screens. They don’t have anything else to do and have surplus amount of time. So, they waste it doing these things,” she stated.
‘Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev’ to release in December 2025: Director Ayan Mukerji
Mouni is presently on cloud nine with all the love and adulation coming her way for ‘Brahmastra’ and the actress is now even more committed to her work. She admitted that she is overwhelmed with the response to her character and that the feeling has still not sunk in completely.
‘Brahmastra’ has already entered the Rs 100 crore club at the box office within just three days of its release and the film is expected to continue its dream run this week too.
‘Brahmastra’ stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, with Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna playing key characters. The film also has a special cameo by Shah Rukh Khan and it has been directed by Ayan Mukerji.
