Former IPL chairman and businessman Lalit Modi is currently on external oxygen support after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
The entrepreneur, who is quite active on his social media handles, took to his Instagram to share pictures of himself from his hospital bed.
In the photos, he can be seen carrying an external oxygen pipe and he informed that along with COVID-19, he has also been infected with influenza and pneumonia.

Modi shared a slew of pictures on his Instagram handle in which he can be seen lying on his hospital bed. “After 3 weeks in confinement with a double Covid in 2 weeks accompanied by influenza and deep pneumonia – and post trying several times to leave. Finally landed via air ambulance accompanied by two doctors and superstar super efficient son who did so much for me back in London. The flight was smooth. Unfortunately still on 24/7 external oxygen,” he wrote, along with the photos.
He also shared another picture after landing in London in which he thanked his doctors, his children and his “thief friends”. He wrote, “I was I thought touch and go. But my children and thief friends and my close friend @harish_salve_ who were all with me 2 out of my three weeks fully by my side. They are all my family and part of me. God bless. Jai hind.”
Sushmita Sen maintains silence but Rajeev reacts
While “get well soon” messages poured in for Lalit in the comments section of his posts, his alleged girlfriend, actress Sushmita Sen remained mum.
However, it was her brother Rajeev Sen’s comment that caught the netizens’ eyes.
“Wishing you a speedy recovery Lalit . Stay strong,” he commented.

In 2022, Modi took the nation by storm when he shared pictures from his vacation with Sushmita and announced that the two were dating.
Not just that, but he went on to state that they may get married soon as well.
While the couple was trolled brutally by the netizens, Modi gave befitting replies to them, defending his relationship with Sushmita. However, the actress refrained from commenting on Modi’s claims and instead, only slammed trolls for calling her a “gold digger”.
Months later, Modi removed Sushmita’s name from his bio and even completely stopped addressing questions about them. While rumours of their breakup began doing the rounds on the internet, the actress was spotted with her ex-boyfriend Rohman Shawl at several family and industry events.
