Popular actor Anant Nag has criticised Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Pathaan song Besharam Rang. According to media reports, the KGF actor said that ‘showing women in such a way is not Indian culture’.
In an interview with Asianet, he slammed the costume worn by Deepika in the song. He also described the song as having ‘nudity content’.
The actor, who has worked in over 300 movies, said, “Showing women in such a way is not part of our Indian culture. If the censor team had done their job, this wouldn’t have happened in the first place. Forget about movies, look at OTT content, they show all sorts of nasty and offensive stuff. Everything is openly shown and no one is there to stop them.”
Nag added, “Indian cinema should stop such nudity content on big and small screens. Showing things against our culture and tradition will definitely cause conflicts among the people.”

Changes in Besharam Rang
Amid massive uproar over ‘Pathaan’, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has recommended a slew of cuts and modifications in the film, including in the controversial song ‘Besharam Rang’.
The CBFC has asked the makers to replace close up shots of buttocks with other suitable shots. Not just that, but the board has also asked to curtail the sensual visuals in the “bahut tang kiya…” part of the song, and has suggested to replace a ‘side pose’ of Deepika which allegedly highlighted “partial nudity”.
Changes/modifications in Pathaan
The name ‘RAW’ has been changed at several points in the film, while the mention of ‘Ashoka Chakra’ has been replaced with ‘Veer Puraskar’.
Apart from that, a reference of PMO has been completely removed from the film, along with replacing the mention of ‘PM’ with ‘President’ and ‘Minister’ around 13 times in the film.
The word ‘scotch’ has been replaced with ‘drink’ and ‘Mrs Bharatmata’ has been changed to ‘Hamari Bharatmata’. A dialogue ‘Langde Lulle’ has been replaced with ‘Toote Foote’.
Pathaan and Besharam Rang controversy
The song sparked outrage after Deepika was seen donning a “saffron bikini” in one of the scenes in the song. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra called her outfit in the song “objectionable” and threatened makers to stall the film’s release.
Several political leaders and Hindu organisations also claimed that the use of the saffron/orange colour in the song was aimed at insulting Hindutva.
‘Pathaan’ marks Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the silver screen in a full-fledged role after five long years. The film is a high octane spy-actioner in which all the actors will be seen packing some intense punches.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars John Abraham in the lead role. It is scheduled for a Republic Day weekend release on January 25.
