South actress Mamta Mohandas recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called vitiligo.
Mamta took to her Instagram to share pictures of herself sipping coffee and penned an emotional note, tracing her vitiligo journey.
“Dear ☀️ , I embrace you now like I have never before. So Spotted, I’m losing color…I rise even before you every morning, to see you glimmer your first ray through the haze. Give me all you’ve got..for I will be indebted, here on out and forever by your grace,” she wrote along with her pictures.
Celebs extend support
Several south celebs commented under Mamta’s post and extended their support to her.
Tovino Thomas dropped a red heart in the comments section while Reba John wrote, “You’re a fighter and you’re beautiful.”
Sachiin Kkhurana called the actress a “stunning fighter”.

What is vitiligo?
Vitiligo is a condition that causes loss of skin colour in patches. The discoloured patches keep getting bigger with time and it can also affect the hair and the insides of the mouth.
Vitiligo occurs when pigment-producing cells die or stop functioning.
While treatment may improve the texture of the skin, there is no specific cure for the disease.

Mamta is an actress cum playback singer. She has acted in over 50 films, including ‘Sunny’, ‘Forensic’, ‘Enemy’, ‘Goodalochana’, ‘Two Countries’, ‘Varsham’, and ‘Ladies and Gentleman’, among others.
